Gold Circle has strongly condemned the behavior of a group of racegoers following the scratching of Main Defender from the IOS Drill Hall Stakes, which resulted in the abandonment of the last five races on the card, including three Grade 2 Feature events.
The organization is determined to sanction those responsible, potentially including banning orders from its race tracks and facilities in the future. Gold Circle extends its apologies to all connections and racing enthusiasts who were affected by the disruptive actions of a minority whose behavior bordered on anarchy.
"We deeply regret this incident, particularly for our esteemed sponsors, World Sports Betting and the Independent On Saturday, whose steadfast support for horse racing we greatly appreciate," stated Michel Nairac, Gold Circle's CEO. "Although we have managed to reschedule the Feature events for Wednesday, this does not fully compensate for the disruption caused by the unacceptable actions of a few individuals. We take this matter seriously and will address it with the utmost severity."
This occurrence underscores the importance of maintaining decorum and respect within the racing community. Gold Circle emphasizes its commitment to upholding sportsmanship, order, and integrity at all events, and assures the public that it will implement necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
